Plaisance - a town both modern and traditional

 The Bastide and the organ

Founded in 1322 by Jean, Count of Armagnac and Abbot of the Case Dieu, the walled town of Plaisance offers a number of features, most notably the conspicuous group of Gascon manor houses (the bastides).

The town centre is planned on a star shape with two arcaded squares and a unique architecture created by the conjunction of two urban styles, one medieval and the other nineteenth century.

"270 pounds of iron

1350 pounds of lead and tin

50 square meters of leather

30 cubic yards of wood

to make the air sing ..."

Here are some words that describe the magnitude of the organ that will be presented to you and explained.
